Dr. Rigterink understands that behavior cases can be very complicated. If you are a primary care veterinarian and have a patient that requires a veterinary behavior consultation, please let us help you! At this time, Dr. Rigterink provides only in-clinic behavior consultations. Your client may contact us directly to schedule the appointment. Once an appointment is scheduled, we will ask your client to contact you to send us a copy of the patient’s complete medical record prior to their appointment. Records can be emailed to info@indianavetbehavior.com or faxed to (317) 747-9049. You will receive a visit summary of your patient’s appointment with us by email and/or fax. We also will be in touch with you by phone after the appointment to make sure that you are aware of the treatment plan and to answer any questions that you may have. Dr. Rigterink wants to make sure your client has the best support system.

Dr. Rigterink encourages referring trainers to attend appointments with their clients. Veterinary behaviorists often work with dog trainers who can help implement behavior modification techniques. In the management of behavior disorders, it is extremely important to utilize trainers who use techniques that are scientifically based, humane, and reflect current standards.
